The belt of Pipe Conveyor is conventionally troughed at feed-end and is rolled into a circular section (pipe) by a set of specially designed hexagonally arranged rollers. At the discharge-end, the belt of Pipe Conveyor is opened up by special idler arrangement and the material is discharged.
The Pipe Conveyors have an advantage of accommodating complex horizontal and vertical curves, thereby avoiding many transfer points. It is a notion that Pipe Conveyors are an expensive affair. However, a well-designed Pipe Conveyor is, at times, economical than regular troughed conveyors.
